About Us > Litho Offset

Overview :

Offset printing uses CMYK (aka Process or Full Colour) and Pantone spot colour (PMS). This process uses ink and plates to transfer an image onto paper. It produces high quality cost effective results for long print runs. A single page A4 brochure would require a minimum quantity of 1000 copies to be cost effective via offset. A colour proof is generated from the approved file to be checked before printing commences, however it is not printed on the chosen stock, so final colour matching is still made 'on press' as the job is run.
Opportunity :

Litho Offset Printing makes use of advance digital technology to produce offset quality results. Not to be confused with digital reproduction (which is mostly associated with digital copiers and colour lasers), Digital Offset Printing eliminates many of the mechanical steps required for litho-offset printing, including making films or plates. As image is transferred directly onto paper without the use of plates, the technology is cost-efficient and significantly makes small volume print-runs economical. You will find that 1 MP utilize only the best digital offset printer currently in the market for premium results.
Advantages :

  • High image quality.
  • Works on a wide range of printing surfaces including paper, wood, cloth, metal, leather, rough paper and plastic.
  • The unit cost goes down as the quantity goes up.
  • Quality and cost-effectiveness in high volume jobs. While today's digital presses are close to the cost/benefit ratio of offset for high quality work, they are not yet able to compete with the volume an offset press can produce.
  • Many modern offset presses use computer-to-plate systems as opposed to the older computer-to-film work flows, further increasing quality.
